Most of Gulf countries tend to operate Desalination plants in order to produce valid and fresh water for human being usage. Unfortunately, those plants discard huge tones of salts into sea and the concentrations of those salts are very high which can disturb the ecosystem in sea. Coastal Flooding on Gravel-Dominated Beaches Under Global Warming

Global Journal of Engineering Sciences This work analyses the effects of sea-level rise on flooding events for 3 different scenarios: present situation (S0), optimistic projection (RCP4.5) and pessimistic projection (RCP8.5). The study area is a gravel-dominated beach in southern Spain (Playa Granada), where the SWAN and XBeach-G models are applied to assess wave propagation patterns, total run-up and flooded dry beach area. The results indicate that sea-level rise modifies wave propagation patterns, with alongshore-averaged increases in breaking wave height equal to 1.2% (1.9%) un-der westerly (easterly) storms in the optimistic scenario and 2.6% (2.4%) in the pessimistic scenario. These increments lead to maximum increases in total run-up greater than 13% (14%) for westerly (easterly) storms in the optimistic scenario and 16% (20%) in the pessimistic scenario. Finite Element Analysis and Calculation of Normal Section Bearing Capacity of Steel Tube Bundle Composite Shear Wall

Global Journal of Engineering Sciences To be a new type of building component, composite shear wall with steel tubes bundle has been widely used in the steel structure housing system as the development of prefabricated construction. In this paper, ABAQUS has been used to analyze mechanical performance of composite shear wall under low cycle reciprocating loading conditions. 6 group simulations with different axial compression ratio have been carried out, and both hysteretic curve and skeleton curve have been drawn. The simulation results showed that hysteretic curves become full before composite shear wall damage, and seismic performance is good. When the axial pressure ratio is 0.2, the bearing capacity of composite shear wall with steel tubes bundle achieves its maximum value.
